Letter M/ La Letra M
EN: By now we are done with letter M and starting letter N, these are some of the activities we completed this week with letter M:

Color Sorting with M & M's / Clasificación de colores con M&'s[/caption]EN: We started off with some M&M´s color sorting, Jahmet's got it all figured out by now. I am so proud of his improvement. The little one jumped on board with color sorting and what a great job he did! He received occasional assistance of his big brother and I, but overall he's got it. He's quiet the avid learner.
ES: Comenzamos con las clasificaciones de colores con M&M´s, Jahmet lo tiene todo resuelto por ahora. Estoy muy orgullosa de su mejora. El pequeño subió a bordo con la clasificación de colores y que gran trabajo hizo! Recibió la ayuda ocasional de su hermano mayor y la mia, pero en general lo ha conseguido. Es definitivamente un alumno ávido.

M&M's patterns / Patrones con M&M´s[/caption]EN: Following with some M&M's patterns Jahmet did an amazing job! The little one stayed behind enjoying his color sorting and eating the chocolate pieces when I wasn't looking. Lets face it, it was his first time with color sorting and it was impossible to move on when having delicious chocolates to eat.
ES: Continuamos haciendo patrones con los M&M´s, Jahmet hizo un gran trabajo! El pequeño se quedo atrás disfrutando de su clasificación de colores y comiéndose las piezas de chocolate cuando yo no le estaba mirando. Aceptemoslo, era su primera vez con la clasificación de colores y era imposible adelantarse teniendo deliciosos chocolates para comer.
EN: After all the little one did a great job and ended up catching up with us later with the patterning. Notice the amount of brown M&M's pieces missing, yes, he ate most of them. Those were his favorites.
ES: Después de todo el pequeño nos alcanzo con los patrones. Noten la cantidad de M&M's marrones que faltan, si, se comió la mayoría de esas. Esas eran sus favoritas.
EN: We decided to do some scientific experiment with the M&M's inserting them into water for a while and watching the floating letter Ms. The kids enjoyed watching the process!
ES: Decidimos hacer un experimento cientifico con los M&M´s insertandolos en agua por un momento ydespues ver las letras M flotar. A los chicos les encanto ver el proceso!

Letter M Size Sorting and Puzzles/ Clasificacion de tamaños y rompecabezas con la letra M[/caption]EN: Jahmet did a brilliant and fast job with the sorting and puzzles. Meanwhile doing it he decided to answer the phone and have a conversation with my aunt. Yes, he's quiet the talker! He was pretty happy with how the puzzle turned out without my help. He is learning so fast and his skills are improving so much!
ES: Jahmet hizo un trabajo brillante y rápido con la clasificación de tamaños y los rompecabezas. Mientras lo hacia decidió contestar el teléfono y tener una conversación con mi tía. Si, le encanta hablar mucho! El estaba bastante contento con como le salió el rompecabezas sin mi ayuda. El está aprendiendo muy rápido y sus habilidades están mejorando muchísimo!

Building Cards/ Tarjetas de Construcción[/caption]EN: We them moved on to the Building Cards, these activities are great for spatial relations, patterns, logical reasoning, geometric concepts, & computation skills.
ES: Después continuamos con las tarjetas de construcción, estas actividades son ideales para las relaciones espaciales, los patrones, el razonamiento lógico, los conceptos geométricos, y destrezas de cálculo. El pequeño observó mientras Jahmet hacia su trabajo!

Scissor skills with the little one / Habilidades con las tijeras con el pequeño[/caption]EN: Later, big brother Jahmet helped the little one with his scissor skills. They both did an amazing job! I love these brother bonding times.
ES: Luego, el hermano mayor Jahmet ayudo al pequeño con las habilidades con las tijeras. Ambos hicieron un trabajo excelente! Me encantas estos momentos de unión de hermanos.

Pre-Writing Activities / Actividades de Pre- Escritura[/caption]EN: While the little on got started with his meal, Jahmet did some pre-writing activities. Like usual he finished fast and did an amazing job!
ES: Mientras el pequeño comenzaba con su merienda, Jahmet hizo algunas actividades de pre-escritura. Como siempre el terminó rápido y hizo un trabajo increíble!

Writing and counting numbers practice/ Práctica de escritura y conteo de números[/caption]EN: After they ate lunch and had a recess time and while the little one took his nap Jahmet did one last activity, writing and counting numbers practice.
ES: Después de que comieron sus meriendas y tuvieron un tiempo de receso Y mientras el pequeño tomaba su siesta Jahmet hizo una última actividad, práctica de escritura y conteo de números.
EN: It was a very productive day, I must say.

We've Got Some Catching Up To Do / Tenemos Que Ponernos Al Día
EN: Hello! For the past few weeks i've been struggling to upload the pictures from my camera and phone to my computer. Unfortunately, nothing i've tried have worked. Recently, to top the situation, all of the pictures taken from my phone had been magically deleted due to "fatal errors in my media card" (as presented in my phone info box). In the midst of all of that we've made a lot of progress and we are now finishing our letter M. Pictures taken with the other camera for that letter, more activities and field trips will be uploaded soon.
ES: ¡Hola! Estas últimas semanas he estado luchando por subir las fotos de mi cámara y el teléfono a mi ordenador. Por desgracia, nada de lo que he intentado ha funcionado.Recientemente, para rematar la situación, todas las fotos tomadas desde mi teléfono han sido mágicamente borradas debido a "errores fatales en mi tarjeta de medios" (como se presenta en mi caja de información del teléfono). En medio de todo eso hemos hecho un gran progreso y ahora estamos terminando nuestra letra M. Fotos tomadas con la cámara de esa letra, más actividades y excursiones se subirán pronto.

Field Trip #2: The Zoo
EN: Jahmet begged me for weeks to go to the Zoo and so for our second field trip I made his day and we went to the Zoo. We had so much fun! I must say these guys enjoyed it the most, they played, ran, jumped, talked and learned so much. At the end of the day they were so exhausted, just like the rest of us. We took our own personal photographer for the day, Denisse Cruz, she is amazing and so much fun to be around. The kids enjoyed asking her questions, answering hers and bragging about their English knowledge. It was an awesome day! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
ES: Jahmet me rogó que durante semanas ir al zoológico y por lo tanto para nuestro segundo viaje de campo lo complací y nos fuimos al zoológico. Nos divertimos mucho! Debo decir que estos chicos disfrutaron demasiado, jugaron, corrieron, saltaron, hablaron y aprendieron mucho. Al final del día estaban tan agotados, al igual que el resto de nosotros. Nos llevamos a nuestra fotografa personal por el día, Denisse Cruz, ella es increíble y muy divertido de estar. Los niños disfrutaron de hacerle preguntas, responder a las de ella y alardear sobre su conocimiento del idioma Inglés. Fue un día increíble! Voy a dejar que las imágenes hablan por sí mismas.
Potty Training
EN: This week we started potty training with the little one, Jahfet. As you all might know he is the new addition to our schoolhouse and what a joy it is to have him around! He is such an energetic, fun fellow. Big brother Jahmet loves to teach him new stuff all the time. I am so proud of my two boys. They are such a blessing!
I have been reading so much about potty training, it is very helpful, but I don't think anything will prepare you for that. Every child is different. It is important though to be patient. I have to say, unlike any other stories I have read, it has been as easy as sitting him down in the toilet and waiting for him to potty. Don't get me wrong it has only been two days, but it has been the most awesome two days ever. I think Jahfet has been ready and we just didn't notice.
I have been observing him since he got here to check for any signs that indicated me that he was about to "poo" or "pee" in his diaper. Let me tell you, as much as I did I never saw any signs. But then I noticed that he usually told me that he "went" after he had his lunch.
On Wednesday (first day) I thought I try sitting him on the toilet after his lunch. He felt a little awkward as I watched him and explained to him that there is where he has to go "potty". I left him by himself for about 10 minutes and then he called on my names and told me happily that he "pooped". Right away Jahmet and I celebrated his achievement with a round of claps, hugs, kisses and compliments. He was a bundle of joy right after that. I gave him a sticker on his potty chart and a "Good Boy" Certificate for his first day going potty. Here are some pictures of Day # 1:
ES: Esta semana empezamos el entrenamiento de ir al baño con el pequeño, Jahfet. Como todos ustedes pueden saber el es la nueva adición a nuestra escuelita y qué alegría es tenerlo con nosotros! Él es un niño muy enérgico y divertido. El hermano mayor Jahmet le encanta enseñarle cosas nuevas todo el tiempo. Estoy muy orgulloso de mis dos niños. Ellos son una bendición!
He estado leyendo mucho sobre como enseñar a los niños a usar el baño, la información es muy útil, pero no creo que nada te prepara para eso. Cada niño es diferente. Es importante sin embargo ser paciente. Tengo que decir que, a diferencia de otras historias que he leído, todo ha sido tan fácil como sentarlo en el inodoro y esperar que el use el baño. No me malinterpretes, sólo han pasado dos días, pero han sido los mejores dos días. Creo que Jahfet ha estado listo para usarlo y que sólo no nos dimos cuenta.
Le he estado observando desde que llegó aquí para ver signos que me indicaran que él estaba a punto de hacer "caca" o "pipí" en el pañal. Déjame que te cuente, por mas que observé nunca vi ninguna señal. Pero luego me di cuenta de que el me decía que "fue" después de su almuerzo.
El Miércoles (primer día), pensé en intentar sentarlo en el inodoro después de su almuerzo. Se sentía un poco raro cuando yo lo miraba y le explicaba que allí es donde tiene que ir "al baño". Lo dejé solo durante unos 10 minutos y luego me llamó por mi nombre y me dijo con alegría que había hecho "caca". De inmediato Jahmet y yo celebramos sus logros con una ronda de aplausos, abrazos, besos y felicitaciones. Él era un manojo de alegría después de eso. Le di un sticker en su gráfica y un certificado de "Buen Muchacho" por su primer dia de usar el baño. Aquí hay algunas fotos del Dia #1:
EN: Day two was as easy as day one, I have him his lunch and right after sat him on the toilet seat, 5 minutes after he called on my name and said he had gone potty. Right when I stepped in the bathroom he started laughing and clapping at his own achievement! He was so excited for his second sticker in the potty chart. I am so proud of him!
ES: El segundo día fue tan fácil como el primer día, le dí su almuerzo y después lo senté en el asiento del inodoro, 5 minutos después llamó a mi nombre y dijo que había ido al baño. Justo cuando entré en el baño se echó a reír y aplaudir a su propio logro! El estaba muy emocionado con su segundo sticker en la gráfica. Estoy muy orgullosa de él!
